CKM boasts an energetic and enthusiastic cheerleading squad to rally CKM sports fans and keep spirits high during football and basketball games. CKM typically fields one cheerleading squad; however, if a large number of students show interest and try out, separate junior varsity and varsity squads may be formed.

The cheer squad is treated like a sports team with participation requirements and high standards for conduct and grades.

Tryouts are typically held in late April or early May. Incoming eighth graders and current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors may try out. Experience is not mandatory, though gymnastics or dance background may be helpful.

The squad practices three to four days every week leading up to and during the football season in the fall and the basketball season in the winter. The cost of the cheerleading uniform generally falls between $300 and $500. Typically the squad will also attend a summer cheer camp to obtain specific instruction.
